Meeting on the Isle of Skye to learn about ‘Peoples of the Land and Sea’

Next week people on the Isle of Skye will have a chance to learn about the ways of life of some of the island peoples of the South Pacific and about how indigenous culture is helping them to meet social and ecological challenges they face today.

Maria Latumahina who is from West Papua and Melissa Sinclair whose father’s family is Scottish and whose mother’s people belong to the Kingdom of Tonga will be visiting Skye as part of a study trip to areas where there is movement towards the community ownership of land or where there are other land rights issues.
