Wild Camping at Croft 37 Gravir
Our low-impact pop-up campsite is perched above the fjord of Loch Odhairn, Gravir and offers panoramic views over south Lewis, north Harris and across the Minch to the mountains of Assynt. There’s a strong chance of spotting local white-tailed eagles, and golden eagles and otters are seen regularly. While located on a working croft and offering visitors the opportunity to sample our produce, the site is exclusive and secluded with three separate sheltered tent pitching areas, a toilet, a sink with biodegradable detergent dispenser and fresh water supply. You can reach us by bus from Tarbert or Stornoway via Balallan, on foot, by boat and by bicycle. We regret that we don’t have parking facilities for motor vehicles.
Guests have access to the full range of croft house facilities including laundry, drying, device charging and a fully-stocked bicycle workshop. World class walking, wildlife watching, cycling and kayaking are on the doorstep (the croft has a slipway suitable for kayak launch and recovery), and our apportionment, located around 45 minutes’ walk away over beautiful coastal moorland, has a sheltered beach.
